Eat Like The Pros® is a highly effective way for people to easily implement the SportFuel, Inc. philosophy. SportFuel, Inc. is a nutrition consulting company founded by Julie H. Burns, which has been fueling professional athletes since 1993. For over 20 years, SportFuel has worked to educate, improve performance, and enhance the wellness and overall well-being of a wide ranging clientele.  Professional and elite athletes, weekend warriors, busy parents and health conscious individuals are among the many clients that have benefited from the nutritional expertise of SportFuel.  Their success can be traced to Julie’s core belief of eating organic and minimally processed whole foods.

Meet Julie H. Burns, MS, RD, CCN

Julie H. Burns, MS, RD, CCN, renowned Holistic Sports Nutritionist, is the founder of SportFuel, Inc., an integrative sports nutrition and wellness consulting firm, fueling professional athletes since 1993. She also is the founder of Eat Like the Pros®, a resource for organic whole-food services and products. Current and past clients include the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks hockey team, the 2005 World Series Chicago White Sox baseball team, the Chicago Bears football team, the 1993-1998 NBA Champion Chicago Bulls, the NBA Development League, Northwestern University's varsity teams, Next Level Performance and individual pro and elite athletes worldwide.

Julie is regularly retained to educate strength coaches, athletic trainers, amateur athletes and health care professionals about her innovative sports nutrition approach. As a mother of teenage triplets, she is often asked to address mother’s groups, parent associations, and other lay audiences. Julie also consults with food companies, public relations firms, and other corporations.

Julie earned her bachelor degree in Dietetics from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (1983) and completed her internship and Masters of Science in Clinical Dietetics from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions (1987). Julie is a registered and licensed dietitian (RD, LDN) in the state of Illinois and is a member of the American Nutrition Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.  She is also a Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) and member of IACCN.

Julie was rated “one of the top ten experts to help revamp your diet” by Harper's BAZAAR magazine. She received the American Dietetic Association Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists (SCAN) 2002 “Achievement Award” and has also been awarded “Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year" by the Chicago and Illinois Dietetic Associations. Julie enjoys golfing, gardening, cooking, yoga, Pilates and watching and attending all sports with her family!
